How do you add all contacts to a Telegram group?
Open the group, tap its name, choose Add Members, and tick each contact you want before you confirm. Telegram has no "select all" switch, so adding all contacts to a Telegram group means ticking them in one pass. You can tick dozens in a single sitting. Whether each tick turns into a member is decided by that contact's own privacy setting, not by you.

- Open the group info. Tap the group name at the top of the chat (on Telegram Desktop, click it).
- Choose Add Members. You need the admin right to add users, or the group must let every member add people.
- Tick contacts. Scroll or search, tick as many as you like. The counter at the top shows how many are picked.
- Confirm. Telegram adds whoever it can and tells you about anyone it could not add.

Why do some contacts refuse to go in? The five-pile triage
Every contact on Telegram decides who may add them to group chats in Settings, Privacy and Security, Invites (older apps call it Groups and Channels). The choices are Everybody or My Contacts, plus "never allow" and "always allow" exception lists. Cross that with whether they saved your number and you get five piles.

Piles 1 and 2 are the people a bulk add actually reaches. Pile 3 is usually the biggest surprise, because a contact you saved years ago may never have saved you back. Run two passes. The first pass ticks every contact you actually know, and Telegram adds piles 1 and 2. The second pass sends one invite link to the people privacy held back. - Clean the phone book first. Delete duplicates and numbers you no longer recognize. A contact you cannot name is not someone to drop into a group.

The same Add Subscribers picker works on channels, with one hard stop: the owner can add only the first 200 subscribers by hand. Telegram's channel FAQ says the channel is "on its own" after 200. The Bot API side is easy to check: the invite-link method lets a bot set a member limit from 1 to 99,999, an expiry date and join requests, and there is no method to push a user into a chat. So a script does not open a single extra door; it only reaches the same doors faster, and speed is what Telegram's flood limits and spam reports watch. Two things stand out. The cleanup step removed more people than privacy did, and those 64 are the ones most likely to have reported the group as spam. When should you stop adding and start inviting?
Stop tapping Add the moment you reach people who would not recognize your name. From there, every add is a stranger in a chat they did not choose, and Telegram gives them a one-tap Report spam button. Invite links, join requests and posts worth sharing grow a group without that risk.
- You hit a privacy error on most picks. The list is cold; switch to links.
- Telegram shows a wait timer. That is a flood limit. Retrying sooner makes it longer.
- @SpamBot says your account is limited. Stop all adds and messages until the limit lifts.
- The channel passed 200. The picker is closed by design.
